In it's heyday the focal point within London County Hall was the 1st floor of the building. It is here that the magnificent debating chamber, numerous corridors of beautiful wood paneled rooms, ceremonial suite, ceremonial staircase and ballroom are all situated.

After many years of being kept behind closed doors, plans are being put into action to open up areas of the 1st floor to accommodate not just a gallery housing the contemporary art collection of Mr. Charles Saatchi, but also a unique conference facility housed within the authentic surroundings.

The conference facility will be housed in the original debating chamber which can hold up to 200 people for daytime or evening events. All the original decor remains, with its beautifully luxurious leather chairs, marble surrounds and wooden desks. The chamber will undergo renovation in 2003, bringing it into the modern day, with plasma screens and supporting AV equipment being installed. This will ensure that the day’s proceedings run with maximum ease, whilst delegates remain in the historic surroundings that made this building famous.

With all this available, London County Hall is able to accommodate full day programmes without the delegate ever needing to leave the building.
